Thank you for your interest in supporting the students of l’Ecole de Choix / the School of Choice through student sponsorships. Currently (and fortunately), all of our students are linked with sponsors. However, we renew sponsorships on their anniversary dates and they often become available on a regular basis.
If you would like to be notified when student sponsorships become available, please click here to send a message to l’Ecole de Choix and provide your contact details.
The staff and students of l’Ecole de Choix
Inspired by a mission of academic excellence, hailed as a model for urban education, Providence St. Mel School proves day after day that inner city students can learn, compete, and achieve when given the proper environment, materials, and support. Through our rigorous, results-oriented college-preparatory education, 550 students in grades preschool through 12 work hard to excel academically and build a strong foundation for future success.
Since 1978, 100% of our graduates have been accepted to four-year colleges and universities.
Since 2001, an average of 50% of our graduates have been accepted to "tier one" colleges and universities, as rated by U.S. News & World Report.
Our lower school scored at the 78th percentile, and our middle school scored at the 82nd percentile on the TerraNova Multiple Assessment Test. The average score of the 80th percentile placed our school 30 points above the national norm! Our high school students averaged an ACT composite score of 24. In comparison, the average ACT scores for surrounding schools is 15.8; this includes charter, contract, and neighborhood schools within a three mile radius.
Our 5 year Advance Placement Audit, performed by CollegeBoard, shows that 91% of Providence St. Mel students pass their AP test by scoring 3 or higher on a scale of 1 to 5. This is compared to a pass rate of 67% statewide and 61% globally.
Only through the most generous support of kindhearted donors can Providence St. Mel ensure that these and more accomplishments continue to be possible. Our families wish to place their children in an environment that is safe, and they sacrifice a great deal to pay what they can toward tuition, but cannot cover the true and pressing cost of a college preparatory education. Education expenses are heavily underwritten through contributions; therefore, each student receives some level of financial aid. Your support through Raise5 will help make a life-changing Providence St. Mel education possible.
